While “psych” is often used as an abbreviation for “psychology,” in our case it is used as a variant spelling of the word psyche, meaning “mind,” “soul,” or “spirit.”

Outside of conscious awareness, these beliefs run the show with most everything we do: they tell us what to make of our feelings, how to interpret the world around us, what we deserve— even who we are.

But when beliefs like: “Change is hard,” or “Good things never happen to me,” are guiding our thoughts and actions beneath the surface, we can be getting in our own way of wanted change without even realizing it.
